The Tenuta Morano farm was born as a family company in continuation of the activity, handed down for generations, of management and cultivation of land owned by the Morano family which boasts a tradition of at least three centuries.The company's core business consists in the production of citrus fruits and extra virgin olive oil. In addition to the latter, the production of fresh summer fruit including strawberries, peaches, medlars and apricots, vegetables and also the artisan production of fresh fruit compotes and vegetables in extra virgin olive oil processed according to traditional Calabrian recipes.At the beginning of Giuseppe Morano's activity, all the land owned was planted with valuable varieties,intended for fresh consumption and the cultivation techniques have become increasingly refined and evolved with various experiments to be able to obtain products of excellent quality.Strengthened by the excellent quality of its products, the company then shortened the supply chain, activating a process of commercial customization of citrus fruits, spring and summer fruit and vegetables.It has registered with the National Database of Fruit and Vegetable Operators and has registered the Dolcissima Tenuta Morano brand, with the aim of starting a direct approach with international wholesaledistributors interested in excellent quality products delivered after a few hours of collection. The Dolcissima brand expresses what is the salient characteristic of the fruit and vegetables produced: sweetness!The position where there are fields and the strong sun present throughout the year allow to obtain a high sugar content and products whose appreciation by the consumer is confirmed to be an element of preference for purchase.The citrus fruits produced are clementines, common mandarins, late mandarins of ciaculli, lemons, Nova clementines, Navel oranges, Tarocco oranges, Washington oranges, Powell oranges, Valencia oranges.For vegetables, the production is varied: fennel, broad beans, peas, potatoes, Tropea red onion, aubergines, zucchini, peppers, cauliflower, cabbage.The fresh vegetables are also transformed into delicious traditional Calabrian recipes and preserved in extra virgin olive oil to obtain appetizers and side dishes for palates looking for the true Italian taste, seasoned with Mediterranean spices and that bring back to the most genuine peasant culture.The whole process is carried out by hand using freshly harvested products in the countryside that are processed fresh. The range of pickles includes aubergines, zucchini, pickled vegetables (a mix of vegetables such as carrots, spring onions, eggplants, peppers and celery), fennel, dried tomatoes, crushed olives and cauliflower, sweet and sour onion.Also from the farm product, tomato sauce is obtained, without preservatives, made from fresh tomatoes, and hand-peeled tomatoes, excellent cooked but also to be eaten raw, to savor the genuine and intense taste of good things.Even fruit compotes are obtained according to simple recipes that enhance the high quality of the products, using few added sugars and without preservatives or artificial colors.The compotes of strawberries, peaches, apricots are delicious to eat alone or on bread for breakfast, delicious for crepes and confectionery preparations. Then there are those of citrus fruits: compotes of oranges, bitter oranges, bergamot, a typical citrus fruit of the province of Reggio Calabria, mandarins and lemons: these are also excellent to use as a dessert but also go very well with aged and fresh cheeses.Finally, there are pumpkin compote, excellent with aged cheeses, preferably spicy and chilli and onion creams to be served with cold cuts and cheeses, or as a sauce to put next to roast meats.
